Meet our newest, fresh face—Dr Stavroula (Stav) Prokopiou.
If you were wondering where that wonderful name stems from, it’s Greek!
Originally a Sydney girl—our amazing, new team member has completed a Doctor of Dental Medicine and a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Hearing & Speech) in Sydney.
Along with this, she completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at our very own University of Queensland. With these diverse but aligned skills under her belt, we’re excited to have Dr Stav at the practice to share her wide body of knowledge.
Caring for community is important
Having lived and worked in the small New South Wales rural town of Coonabarabran (lovingly abbreviated to ‘Coona’ by the locals) with a population a little over three thousand, Dr Stav understands the importance of community and is looking forward to being a part of ours.
A rich history and dental mentors
Dentistry runs in the veins of our newest team member—both her grandfather and father were dental practitioners. Dr Stav's childhood memories overflow with images of her father’s dental laboratory. In addition, her older sister holds a dentistry degree and her husband is continuing his studies as a specialist endodontist.
Kind, gentle, dental care
Dr Stav looks forward to continuing her family’s tradition of dental excellence at the Cole practice—acknowledging our quality of care as one of the most exciting things she is looking forward to being a part of.
As a lifelong learner, Dr Stav actively looks out for industry advances and has special interests in complex crown and bridge work, restorative dentistry, oral surgery and family dentistry.
Dr Stav follows our close patient-dentist team approach. She sees this as the key to achieving and maintaining a healthy, beautiful smile.
Her caring nature makes her committed to ensuring that all her clients have a clear understanding of any procedure they’re to undertake.
She’s also highly invested in client comfort and strives to make sure that every dental experience has a great outcome.
A woman of many talents
The team also loves that Dr Stav is an unabashed foodie—with multicultural cooking being a favourite pastime and cupcakes as one of her specialties! And if that wasn’t enough she also loves yoga and fishing.
We’re excited to have Dr Stav on board and invite you to meet her in person (maybe warn her not to eat anything she catches from the Brisbane river!)
